Welcome to Rathvilly, Co. Carlow.
This picturesque Irish village is nestled in the heart of the ‘sunny south east’, with a reputation for tidiness and floral displays as recorded in National and European Awards.
Here we have the finest views of the Wicklow Mountains, BlackStairs and Killeshin Hills.
The Slaney river, a prime fishing location, with a watermill perched alongside the granite bridge, adding character as you enter the town from Dublin along the N81 route. Continuing uphill you emerge into the village green with its ‘triangle’ roundabout.

The village is served by shops, bars, a post-office, beauty salons and school and even has its own credit union. The architecture of churches and ancient heritage such as Dolmens, forts and a sacred mound highlight the civilisations past and present while monuments commemorate the old forge and Irish patriot Kevin Barry. The village has a number of sports clubs and a youth group and has some interesting annual events such as the parish table quiz, vintage tractor run and Christmas bazaar.
